Latvian Illustrated teaches everyday Latvian through real photographs of street signs found around Latvia, grouped by grammar principle. Every sign comes with translations in nine languages, a word-by-word breakdown, and a short grammar note. The app works fully offline and collects no personal data.
Open Settings → Language. Your choice applies everywhere — the app’s menus, the sign translations, the word meanings, and the grammar notes. Nine languages are supported: English, German, Dutch, Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Italian, Spanish, and Estonian.
On any sign you can also tap a language pill to compare that single sign in another language, without changing your app-wide setting.
Go to Settings → Reset Learning Progress. This clears which signs are marked as learned. Your saved bookmarks and language preferences are kept.
Yes. In Settings → Difficulty Filter you can choose which levels (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced) appear while browsing and in quizzes.
Some signs include the location where the photo was taken — it’s part of the built-in content. The app never accesses your device’s location. Tapping “Open in Maps” simply hands those coordinates to Apple Maps.
No. All content is bundled with the app and works offline. The internet is used only if you tap “Check for Updates,” which asks Apple’s public App Store service for the latest version number.
